Gallery

The Corfu Heritage Foundation Gallery covers a selection of artworks by a number of famous local and international artists depicting Corfu and the Ionian Islands. Dr Megakles Rogakos has curated the contents of this gallery to offer a flavour of works related to the Ionian Islands, with an emphasis on Corfu.

Count Spiro Flamburiari, who is the inspirer and creator of this book, was born in Corfu. He is the descendant of one of the principal Corfiot families ennobled by the Venetians. Over the years he has been involved with a number of projects in Corfu. He is considered an authority on international tourism and has contributed a number of essays on the subject. He is a devoted collector of watercolours on subjects related mainly to Corfu. His involvement with Corfu has been an ongoing affair. He founded the Corfu Heritage Foundation for the purpose of promoting Anglo-Hellenic relations and preserving and supporting the cultural and architectural Heritage between Corfu and Britain. “Corfu: The Garden Isle” in text and pictures is his first book.

Fritz von der Schulenburg and Christopher Simon Sykes are both photographers of international acclaim and specialists of landscape and interiors of some of the world’s most famous houses.
